i understand temptation.
i really do. it's a very.........weird feeling. i usually get it when i think about doing something too much until i feel like i'm about to get up and actually DO it, you know?
but enough about temptation.
today was CDA trip!! in other words.....a specially organized field trip to the Civil Defence Academy for secondary one cadets of NCDCC of Coral Secondary School.
i love using big words.
anyway...mostly the trip involved fire. REALLY cool.
the boring parts: a video & a talk on fire extinguishers, sprinklers and alarms, etc.
the high parts : everything that occured in the FURNACE
the talk wasn't that boring, actually, but it pales in comparison the what happened in the building appropriately named FURNACE.
inside the furnace we went to 4 rooms, from what i can remember. Room number 1 (in no particular order):
the karaoke lounge
now this is a real coolie because in a karaoke lounge, or any pub for that matter, you will find dirty, sick, LIQUOR. and liquor is combustible, or whatever it is that means it expodes easily. and in this room, fire (real, huge flames!!) burn from wire on the ground, then spreads to the windows. then to elaborate on how HUGE a fire can be...
THE FIRE BURNS FROM THE CEILING!!!
it is like so cool! the heat can be felt even when squatting down!! the fire was burning right above our heads!!! it is so AWESOME! one of the cadets, benjamin the big mouth, was looking right UP when everyone was looking DOWN so when we went out his face was totally pink! the flames were so hot!
the mini-mart
in a mini mart there are some combustible items like hair spray, etc. these explode at the slightest bit. so what they did was set fire to the wire racks when there is a CAN ON IT!!! and 1 minute after they set it on fire, THERE WAS A SMALL EXPLOSION!!!!
CAN I STRESS HOW COOL THIS IS!! THERE WAS AN EXPLOSION!! REAL FLAMES FLEW OUT AT US!! IF THE EXPLOSION WAS ANY BIGGER WE WOULD HAVE BECOME KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN!!!!
even i am still bowled over by that. and it occured like 5 hours ago!!!
the drum room
this room is also really really cool because THERE WAS ALSO AN EXPLOSION!!!
AND THIS EXPLOSION WAS BIGGER!! WHOO!! THERE WERE 3 RACKS AND THEY SET FIRE TO THE 2ND AND 3RD AND WHILE ONE JUST BURNED THE THIRD RACK HAD SOMETHING ON IT AND IT EXPLODED!!! WHOOOO HOOOO!!
everyone LOVED it!! ok, some were scared and MOST screamed but what do you expect? IT WAS AN EXPLOSION!!
the smoke room
this is awesome. i was supposed to leave the room in view of my lung problem, or asthma as commonly known. Translation: i was supposed to get lost.
but i didnt. DUH. even if my lungs were failing i would still stick in that room and die if i have to. the CDA is very near the cemetery so i will have a good view of where i died...or maybe not.
anyway i dont want to sound too morbid so i'll just go to the SMOKY details. they made the ladies sit (me and amalia didnt) and the gentlemen stand (how chivalrous) and let out the smoke.
and what smoke! it wasnt that choky because it was made out of "friendly smoke" or a chemical called....E-something 13. i cant remember the chemical.
so they filled the room with smoke. at first the turned off the lights so everything was GREY. the smoke became so thick that when i put my hand in front of me, i couldnt see it!!
actually THICK wouldnt be the best word. it wasnt chokingly thick. its just that the whole room was full of the smoke.
so THEN we were supposed to go out. me and amalia wanted to stay longer so we waited then someone said they couldnt see and they went and turned on the lights.
turning on the lights was the best thing they've ever done!! the smoke went all PINK ,exactly the colour you see in the word PINK. and the room was WHITE so it was all soft pink...
then the smoke didn't seem like smoke, it seemed like a gentle mist that existed in heaven. you know...clouds, heaven, that sort. it was GORGEOUS i tell you.
i told my captain that when we went out and he just laughed.
then it was time to go back. when they said that it was the end of the tour everyone was like...
...so fast????
i understand that. really. the trip seemed so darn short!! but it turned out that we had spent 1 1/2 hours in the Furnace so i guess it was kinda expected that the tour was over.
trip back: quiet. the bus was totally peaceful. everyone seemed exhausted. the two idiots behind us had fallen asleep. HA! and they acted so COOL.
amalia, being the evil person, took a video of them sleeping. two, actually. then she sent the one that had both their faces to me and deleted the one that only had one face since the other guy was sleeping with his head against the back of my seat.
sadly i couldnt view it bcoz of the unsupported resolution. how unfair is that?????
talked too much already. am exhausted....
